SCHOOL'S HISTORY.

The school was founded by the Catholic Dioceses of Nyeri at mweiga in order to cater for boys and girls who needed seconadry education. It started with 35 students for both boys and girls. In 1968, the schoolwas moved toits present loaction which was more spacious and may be cool and condusive for learning. In the same year the government took over form ones and the school grew to a single stream government svhool  and by 1971  it had a total of 160 students.

 

In 1972,the localcommunity started a harambee class for girls and another for boys to cater for the increasing number of children needing secondery education and thus the school became a three stream full day school. In 1980,the goverment started a boarding class purely for girls thus a fourth stream. By 1983 the school grew to a 4 stream with a student population of 640 borders and day scholars and in 1977 an "A" level class was admitted. To enhance performance,a gradual move to phase out girls was started in 1997 and went on until 1999 when the school became a purely boarding boys high school.
